So, I’ve seen this picture floating around today, and I have to say… it pisses me off to no end. This is bullshit.

I work for the company and don’t agree with Dan Cathy, but I don’t agree with this vandalizing bullshit either. Chick-fil-A is run by private franchisees. These operators have their own beliefs and don’t deserve to be punished. If you are against Dan Cathy’s statements, make him feel it. Stop punishing the people that never asked for any of this.

I love my operators. They are great people who are very open minded and care whole-heartedly about their staff. These independent franchisees don’t deserve this sort of hate and vandalism because of Dan Cathy’s choices. He was the one who spoke and wrote the checks for his donations. Don’t punish the people that have done no wrong. Causing misery for the employees and franchisees will not fix anything.

Every one is claiming to “support” Chick-fil-A in their First Amendment rights and in their stand on traditional marriage. And these shitty right-wingers keep acting like activists for equality and gays are freaking out over some words. That’s wrong. Read… Educate yourself. Stop acting as though bigotry is acceptable. The issue that liberals have in all of this has nothing to do with the words, but with the millions in donations that have been made to anti-gay organizations. Money has been put into keeping rights from these people.

Working at Chick-fil-A through “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” was miserable. I was disgusted at the number of people that turned up to support something they didn’t even understand. I was disgusted by all the people that were there in favor of inequality and hate.

And then, they all use the Bible to back up their argument and say that this country was founded on Christian values. Bullshit. People came here for RELIGIOUS FREEDOM. They came to live in a country where politics were separate from religion, and where it was okay to practice whatever religion you chose.

STOP SAYING THAT YOU ARE SUPPORTING SOMETHING WHEN YOU DO NOT EVEN UNDERSTAND THE ISSUE AT HAND. DON’T ACCUSE PEOPLE OF BEING ANGRY OVER AN “OPINION” WHEN YOU REFUSE TO READ THE FACTS TO GAIN UNDERSTANDING.

I was trying to avoid making one of these posts, but I can’t hold it in anymore.

Also, Dan Cathy is COO and President, not CEO… the media needs to get that stuff right. And frankly, what that man did was foolish. He should not have voiced his own opinion as that of the company. His stores are run by private franchisees that hold their own individual beliefs. My operators have had openly gay women on their leadership team three different times since I’ve been there.

My heart breaks every time a customer says they are there to support. They are being insensitive to my beliefs by assuming that mine match that of the company just because I am employed there. It is ridiculous.

Ok… rant done. For now…
